it is well (we pray)

We got some discouraging news this week in our battle against the loathsome Lyme bugs. I’m not ready to share yet, but know that this hymn (one of my favorites) is on my lips and in my heart this week as a fervent prayer for Brad and I. If you think of it, would you join me?

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

    That is one of my favorite hymns. So beautiful and sad and happy all at the same time. Will be praying for you.

    Hi, friend! I stumbled upon your blog via your sister’s! I’m sorry to hear of your discouraging news. I will continue to pray for you guys. This thorn must be so hard to accept, yet what is God up to in it?

    Also, can’t help but think it must have been emotional to sing that song in church today! Did your brother know how much it means to you when he picked it? Along the same lines, whenever we sing “You Hold it All” in church, I always get emotional as I have sung that so much through my two miscarriages. Thanks goodness for waterproof mascara! LOL

    Love you!

    Kristine! I’m so glad you found me. I don’t think Jed did know how much that song has been on my mind lately when he picked it for the service today. So many of the songs we sing make me emotional. But I do love how precious our worship time is. Whenever we sing and I feel God ministering to me through the songs, I realize He must be doing the same to everyone around me, and it amazes me. Love you!
