By God’s grace, I want my words to be both sweet as honey and as powerful as salt. Humbly, I hope that this will be a place of grace, as pleasing as honey.

Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. (Proverbs 16:24)

I also hope I’ll have the courage to be bold and say the unpopular truth when I have it in me, as potent as salt.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. (Colossians 4:6)

And I bake a lot.

One Response to what’s in a name?

  1. Hi Joanna!

I stumbled across your blog while reading Shanna’s latest post on your cajun sweet potato fries.

I’m touched and very inspired by the reason for the name of your blog, and definitely believe that everyone’s words should be used to edify & build up (not tear down), and be strong enough to reflect the passion we have about our beliefs (and make life flavorful as a result).

Thanks for sharing the background for your blog’s title, and God bless!

    cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina,
    Felicia
